Jeanie Hyde is the mother of Kyle and Chris's wife. She's currently residing in New Jersey and works as a nurse.
Background[]
When Jeanie was young, she had met Chris, a genius safecracker who was affiliated with Condor. She fell in love with him and they got married. In 1946, she gave birth to Kyle and the couple raised him while in Los Angeles. Chris pursued a life of crime and was rarely home, however he did spend time with his son in some cases. Despite the fact that he was very busy committing illegal activities, this presumably didn't affect their marriage that much. He was willing to give up the crime gig to focus more on his family but he couldn't cut his ties to his former acquaintances and was unfortunately killed. Jeanie also worked as a nurse back then.
When she received the news that Chris had been murdered, she was tearful for a solid week (from what Kyle could recall) but managed to get her feelings together. Afterwards, she chose to pack up and move to Manhattan with Kyle to start a new life. She raised him on her own from then on. By the time she and Kyle had moved to Manhattan, they got the opportunity to live in a apartment complex but when Kyle started going to school, he was very quiet and kept to himself a lot. Even three months after he transferred in, he hadn't really opened up to his homeroom teacher, Sarah Hartman or any of the other students. His mother was very concerned about this issue at the time as well. Over time, he opened up to his classmates and Hartman in elementary school. Jeanie continued to watch over Kyle for twenty one years.
When her son was a kid, there was one instance where she came home from work and he waited for such a long time to see her that it got pitch black. But when he looked up from the balcony, he could see the stars in the sky. He forgot about the bus stop he usually looked at and just stared at the stars, completely distracted. When he came to his senses, she was next to him on the balcony with her arms around him. She told him that one of those stars up there was his father and that he was always watching him from up there in the sky. At some other point in time, she forced Kyle to join the boy scouts during his childhood.
In 1968, Kyle was hired to work for the NYPD and he still lived with Jeanie. She appreciated that her son became a detective, so he could get the chance to find out the identity of Chris' murderer, however that opportunity was squandered because at age 30, Kyle decided to move out of his mother's apartment, went to Los Angeles after he quit being a detective, eventually working for Red Crown and residing in the Cape West Apartments building. Overtime, she moved to New Jersey and still has the same occupation.

She's mentioned by Hyde when he talks with Louis during chapter 2 because he mentioned he wasn't native from New York. Her name wasn't stated at this point.

Last Window: The Secret of Cape West[]
In this game, she finally appears and her name is finally stated as Jeanie Hyde. She phones Kyle frequently while he is at the Cape West Apartments to check up on him and comments that he's the same age as his father.
